Borders is my neighborhood book store. Can't find anything in there, unless it's brand new or bestseller. I was so impressed with it when it opened in 2004 and I liked that it was all on one level, but as I got to know it better, I get frustrated with the place. I would like for them to survive, however.

The Barnes & Noble nearest to me is closing in January -- real estate problem -- landlords in NYC are so greedy. It's the one near Lincoln Center.

I first had Krispy Kreme donuts while at UNC Greensboro in early '70s. Sellers would come around to the dorm late at night and sell them to us. There were also the stores. They came to NYC much later on.
