Most other places I've bought things from with something like a 30-day return policy, the 30 days start counting and you can only replace things within the 30 day window. After 31 days from delivery, you's SOL.

That's what I mean by feeling safer just returning this straight out for a refund, and then buying a new one.
If I get a replacement, it'll be under the rules of the warranty. My 30 day return window will pass by, and if the replacement is buggy, I could conceivably end up with a refurb.
If anyone knows for sure otherwise, I would welcome their advice.
