Replacements under the warranty are often refurbished. He wants a brand new unit.
I do too, which is why I'm wondering whether it would be safest get a replacement under warranty now, when it's unlikely to be a refurb (because they aren't likely to have any, even if they would do that at this stage), or return it and order a new one to start my 30 day return guarantee again.
