It starts shipping on Oct 15th so it will be awhile before I have it. Truth be told I am a Microsoft Wintel fan but I can still be very critical. It is not inexpensive and I am buying it to handle a number of jobs. I am concerned with the weight. As a reader 2lbs is probably at the edge of acceptance. I am also slightly concerned with heat. EXOPC has told us they have made this thing cold. In fact they are working to optimize and slow the fan down. I want this to be my complete reference device. If I want to read an ePub or Mobipocket book or any Magazine or newspaper I expect not to have any issues. If I want to connect to things like wikipedia I expect it to just work. I want to also install Microsoft Visual Studio. Not to develop programs but to be able to store and run programs to use as a reference. I own an iRex Digital reader and I do love it. Great screen and works fine. I didn't like their move to ePub. I didn't upgrade and I wish I could use it the way I expect to use this Slate.
