I've found that (at least, lately) with Smashwords, you are best off to get both the EPUB and Mobi formats. Add the EPUB first, as it often has correct metadata. Then, drag the mobi onto the big square on the right side, where the cover is shown; this adds the mobi to the same book (rather than having it be detected as a different book, due to bad metadata, which is what happens if you use the Add button or drag it into the center/book list. Then, "convert" the mobi or epub format to mobi (you can check first, but often mobi has better formatting).
