The correct instructions for installing Calibre2opds are in the online documentation. This includes how to do a manual install if the installer is not behaving.

To look further at why you are having problems can you please do the following:
- Start up a Command window (DOS Prompt)
- Change the current directory to the location where the calibre2opds binaries are located
- Use the RunGui.cmd command from that location to see what error messages (if any) are output.

If you get an error message about the JaveW.exe program not being found which someone else ahs reported this seems to be caused by the Java installation not putting the Java binaries package on the Search path in the PATH environment variable. This problem can be fixed by manually adding the path to the Java binaries. If some other message is output then please report what it is.

Note that the RUN.cmd file will not work correctly until you have managed to run the Gui at least once as it relies on information set up by the GUI to be present. I will see if we can output a sensible error message rather than a Java failure message if that information cannot be found.

I am not sure that Calibre2opds was tested on Windows XP. There is no reason that I can see, however, why it should not run. I will see if I can find a Windows XP Virtual machine to reproduce your problems.
