I put liberal in quotes because I think the idea that the media is liberal is absolutely laughable. You only need to look at the way the mainstream press deals with each party to see that. Al Gore never said he invented the internet but reporters repeated it over and over again, all the time knowing it wasn't true, just because it was "fun" to say.
