As a guy, I don't usually go with pink. But having an 8 year old girl, I grew accustomed to pink stuff. I also had my wife knit me a cell phone sock as a temporary protector for my new phone until I get a permanent case. She asked me what color I want and I went with a pink-red striped one (just to be different from the crowd. And by the way, it seems that my temporary solution became allready permanent. I have the sock since last christmas and never thought of getting a case again.)
So I would not at all consider pink an ugly color. And given the fact that pink readers could be cheaper in a short time compared to their "serious" colored countrparts, I would go for a pink one.
