After the first few weeks of excitment with my new toy when I was reading non stop - I've probably increased my reading overall because now I always have a book that I want to read.
Previously I would read my book if I could be bothered carrying it around. If what I really wanted to read was too big and heavy or just not with me then I would read a magazine, newspaper, the cereal packet, whatever and wish I was reading my book. Or sometimes the book I had with me was not really what I felt like reading right at that moment.
The ease of downloading a new book is incredible and it's immediate! One of the first ebooks I read was The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo. When I finished I decided I wanted to read the others and within MINUTES I had downloaded them and started reading. Prior to my ereader I would have been frustrated that it was 7pm on a Sunday night and no bookshops were open. I would have looked at my diary for the week and realised that I probably wasn't going to have time to get them before Wednesday and been REALLY annoyed. With the ereader by the time Wednesday rolled around I had finished the 3 books and moved on to something else.
