Now, let's say you want a reader from Pocketbook and not a Sony or a K3. Which reader will have been the better choice. Why the Sony since all your eBook will be compatible without the need to convert to ePub. Sure you may have converted some already to ePub, but all the eBooks you have will be ePub and ready to go on a different reader.

Now, if you didn't know about DRM and stripping/converting, you be well and truly locked in with a K3.
