Ordered August 5th, and had it delivered about an hour ago. The Kindle 3 is *really* sleek, and the screen is a huge improvement over my Kindle 1. Comparing the two side-by-side, the difference is just amazing.

I set up my wi-fi, tried out the browser, created some collections, and added a few books. So far I'm impressed with all the new options, and collections seem to do the work of folders pretty well. I'm going to let it charge for the full 3 hours before I use it off the charger the first time.

I don't have any problems with the page turn buttons or the d-pad. I do have to look over my glasses to see what keys I'm pressing. I may need a bit stronger light in here.

So far the only real negative is that AT&T's signal strength in my areas seriously sucks. I get one tiny bar in 3G and it's sloooow. The 3G from Sprint on my K1 is much much better. Thankfully my wi-fi connection is stable and quick.

Overall reaction

Edit: Oh, and I put it in the cover, turned off all the lights, and tried out the built-in light. It's going to take some getting used to, but I think it'll work well. I'll try it out further tonight.
