Dear Plato (via TGS): Yup, you have a point, old chap. But the question ain't that we do it, it's why we do it. And ultimately it's about whether our actions can be justified in a fair and honest human context. I guess now, we'll have to go back and define 'fair and honest'. Even 'human'.
