It definitely does work as advertised! I've used it everyday to wirelessly deliver newsfeeds from calibre.

On the K2 I had to keep my Kindle tethered to my laptop overnight while calibre downloaded and generated the newsfeed and then transferred it to my K2 via USB. Now it just sends it wirelessly overnight, and it's on my Kindle when I wake up, no USB cable required, and no charges incurred!
