Make sure you haven't accidentally saved the reginfo file with an extension and Windows is just not showing the extension. Either configure Windows to show all extensions, or when you're connected to the Kindle:
cd /mnt/us/
ls -la
make sure reginfo is listed and doesn't have any kind of extension (.xml .txt ...etc)
