I don't care whether any product kills another. If there's a better product for my uses, great, I'll bring my money. Until something better comes along, I'm loving my iPad.
I'm spending months overseas and bought a second iPad before I left the U.S., because I find it useful enough that I don't want to go without one even temporarily, should I drop mine and lack access to buy one quickly. When I'm ready to return to the U.S., I can sell the spare if I like, I figure.
I've owned zero Macs and have been happy with a string of ThinkPads, so I can hardly be called an Apple fan. I'm a big fan of iPad now, though, despite its shortcomings. I don't expect perfection, especially in a first-generation product. I can always upgrade later, when competitors come up with something better.
