In my case it's because I'm OCD. Like Jeannie, I have several different genres of books. I don't like sorting them with tags, so I have separate libraries for genres. I know this makes lots of people go "ICK" and "why????" but since Kovid was kind enough to implement the feature, I'm darned sure going to use it! Even if he didn't mean for it to be used for this purpose, it works for me admirably, so I'm really glad it's there.
