One of the BSDs is a more-likely candidate in the short term. FreeBSD 5.2 with "
Project Evil" will probably be the easiest to get up and running on the device, based on its odd hardware and chipset configuration. Linux would surely follow.
I'd much-rather see FreeBSD or OpenBSD running on this device, for the speed and functionality of the kernels running in those flavors, than Linux... but I'm only slightly jaded.
The price is definately prohibitive though, to even try buying one to hack on.
