I would think left justification (lines with the left end aligned with the edge of the margin) would be preferred over right (lines with right end aligned with the edge of the margin) with the exception of lists of numbers, then right justification would be more appropriate. I prefer full justification myself. Left justification leaves a ragged looking margin on the right that looks sloppy and unprofessional to me (it also annoys the tar out of me).
