I got my K3 yesterday and I have to say the indexing has been pretty fast. I loaded over 400 items (about 60 samples, 40 short stories) the rest mostly novels -- all but about 90 were done in six hours, and the rest finished overnight (except for a few topaz items I had trouble with, and ended up deleting and reloading one at a time).
One way you can tell how the indexing is doing is to do a search -- choose a "rare" word so it doesn't generate 500 hits, and when it gives you the list it will give you the number of how many titles haven't been indexed yet at the bottom. You can click to see which they are, and if they seem to be stuck you can delete and reload one at a time.
