While not touted as one of the big new features of the new Kindle, the delivery of personal documents via
mykindle@free.kindle.com over WiFi makes me giggle with delight. Let me explain why.
My wife and I share a single Kindle account on her Amazon account. What this meant for me was that in the past when I sent a document for conversion via the free option, a link would be sent back from Amazon to HER email. She would then forward the link to me or if I was home I'd go fishing through her email to retrieve the link. I would then have to log onto HER Amazon account with HER password to be able to use the link. Finally I could then retrieve the file, hook up the USB and transfer the document to my Kindle.
Now I simply send the document to
mykindle@free.kindle.com, turn on my Kindle's wireless which automatically connects to our WiFi here at home and abracadabra the document magically appears on my Kindle. How great is that?
This new K3 is just a wonderful device. Even the feel of the buttons and switches exude quality. My K2 now seems like a pre-production prototype in comparison.
Kudos to Amazon.
