While the nook supports a different DRM scheme for ePub, it also supports the standard Adept scheme. So yes, it is compatible.

Also Bookeen's Gen3 and Opus And BeBook, LBook, Astack and other similar clones are also compatible as well as others that I've not mentioned.

So really, I have a lot more choices as to what reader I want if I don't go Amazon where as Amazon, I only have two choices. The K3 or the DXG.
