Bah - memory sticks! I like the idea of adding on the storage to suit your own personal needs but if I'm having to fiddle about with taking a memory stick out and plugging that into the PC - well I may as well just plug the whole Kindle in.

What I really want to do is just wirelessly transfer whatever ebooks I want from Calibre, straight to my Kindle. I know there have been mentions of using dropbox as a server so I may investigate this further although I'm not great at working out technical things!
