No fire required. It's just that when Amazon offers something for sale and then doesn't deliver it, they don't normally go to dubious interpretations of the terms of the offer, they just give you your money back.
I'll try Anemic Oak's idea of writing them. It might be there are a lot of new guys on the phones rather than a change in Amazon's policies. This is my first experience with Kindle you see and I don't know what to expect.
