Yeah, I think this is a design flaw that might be exacerbated by air conditioning/dryness and frequent use. I only had my Nook for 2 months, but I was using it at least 3 hours a day, every day. Someone who uses a device 1-2 hours a week might never have a button crack.

But I mostly used the touchscreen swipe, not the buttons, so who knows?
