The tracking status messages mean little, that's true enough. If you look up your tracking number on UPS or USPS or whatever, sometimes you'll see a tracking status of "Electronic shipping information received" (or similar) for a few days, because the packages was never scanned. But even so, the Amazon shipping status will still say "shipped" and display a tracking number.

Some of us have Kindles that seem to be stuck in the "Shipping Soon" phase and don't even have a tracking number (scanned or otherwise). That's a different situation. It's possible that there's a communication breakdown. Maybe they've been shipped off without a hitch but updates from warehouse computers to the order database are lagging. That's what I'm hoping, anyway.
