Duh.

Was using my own PC, since that's the computer I scanned the pages to. Took the files to her comp, and just synced after dragging the files to iTunes/Books. Probably could have dragged them, but was only trying to do that to avoid syncing all my stuff onto her iPad.
Glad you got that worked out! But, it still seems odd. You should be able to drag PDFs to any copy of iTunes, regardless if an iPad is synced to it.
