I guess I'm the exception that proves the rule. My parents both hated reading. My mother, who is still alive, when I told her I'd bought myself a reader mused about buying one for herself and then admitted that she'd probably never use it since she doesn't like to read. And yet, I grew up a total bookworm. . .go figure.
