I broke down
I looked on Amazon at the prices and at ebay for the used prices. It didn't seem to make sense to buy used. I also felt good about making Weis & Hickman just a bit wealthier for this classic fantasy work. It started a whole genre. (fantasy series)
I took a drive to good old B&N last night, and found all three volumes in one huge thick paperback book with small font. I wish they had a proper hardcover, like they have for LoTR. I guess it is not as much of a classic as I perceive it to be, hehehe.
I'm not sure I'll read it for a third time when I'm done with it this time, so electronic would have really been the way to go.
One thing I noticed was that the publisher is no longer TSR, but Dragons of the Coast LLC. What happened?
The cover art is also different; it isn't by Larry Elmore any more, but Matt Stawicki. Stawicki's art is actually a little more detailed, but not as warm to my eye. It is probably just a sentimental thing. I probably should have held out and bought the separate books with the art from my youth. This was only $16, so it was hard to resist.
