I am not sure I would go so far as to say that the Kobo is outdated. But I do agree that with even the Sony 300 often going for sale at $100, that the basic readers like the Kobo and the PRS-300 need to be at about $100 or less to be competitive with the Nook Wifi and Kindle 3.
