That is a good question, because your problem is one of the MOST common problem discussed on the BeBook website's own user forum. However, the solution is ALWAYS the same. You need to get a working card. Another thing that you *might* try is to do a proper SD format, since Windows definitely does a disk format and not an SD format and I suspect Ubuntu also does a disk format instead of an SD format? For Windows, you can get an SD formatting tool from the SD Association.

The only other solution that I can think of is to try some different SD cards. It also helps to have your BeBook plugged into a USB charger during updates to ensure that there is a very good power supply voltage for the installation process.
