AFAIK, there isn't a way to view djvu files on the Sony.

As far as PDF's go, yes it will read them. However keep in mind you'll be trying to read a PDF that's likely at least letter size if it's a text book and you'll be putting it on a screen that's much smaller than the actual PDF so the reading experience may not be what you're hoping for.
