First, thank you for your help. I couldn't make any progress on this problem without it.

Could you try this driver, and also make a debug log for me?

If you are running windows, then the procedure is:
1. Open a command box (start, run, type 'cmd', push OK)
2. type 'cd \' (all typing is without quotes)
3. type 'calibre-debug -g > caldebug.txt 2>&1'
4. Calibre will open. Send a book to your sony.
5. Close calibre. Zip (or not) and post the file \caldebug.txt.
6. Delete the file \caldebug.txt
7. Do step 4 of the previous post. Post the result.
8. Unplug your sony.
9. Do step 4 again. Post the result.

What I have noticed is that your Sony thinks that GMT is one hour behind where you live. One sees this by the 'tz="-60"' in the information a few posts back. I am trying to figure out how to use that information so your reader and calibre agree on the time.
