I've only been able to access NetLibrary which wasn't any better. If I'm looking in the wrong place, please let me know. I still have an L.A. Public Library Card even though I don't technically live in any of the incorporated cities anymore.

LA County Library definitely has Dead In the Family, the latest Sookie Stackhouse novel. Their site is
http://overdrive.colapublib.org/ - check it out and do a search for the title, and it pops up first (waiting list is 4 ppl, 2 copies).
LA Public Library converted from netlibrary to Overdrive at the end of June. Here's their site:
