wifi EAP-PEAP configurations dont work

following the instructions here,http://nookdevs.com/Tips_and_tricks#EAP-PEAP

,i tried modifying my wpa_supplicant.conf to support EAP-PEAP security and my network CA is an Equifax Secure Certificate Authority which is installed in most computers so I just use the mmc console box and get a .p7b copy of the certificate. I converted the .p7b CA to .pem file(i named the certificate file equifax.pem) as instructed and push both files to /system/etc/wifi. I'm sure the pushing is done since I can pull these two files back and see they did change.

but after i rebooted the nook the hotspots requiring EAP-PEAP authentification still dont appear in the hotspot list. so i pulled wpa_supplicant.conf back and found it returns to the original file.. what should I do to fix this? all the network in my university requires EAP-PEAP and it sux if my nook is out of wifi :S
