The first thing I do is remove DRM, and put the book into Calibre. There I convert it if it isn't mobi, clean up metadata. Unfortunately, I have a fairly large to be read pile, so I don't look at it again until it comes to the top of the list. There may be some small problems, but nothing that interfered with my reading - just a momentary irritation.
