I wonder if that is still sold to in US supermarkets? I've never seen it being sold anywhere else in the world.

Yes, it is. Or at least we carry it at the local grocery store that I work at. (In Illinois). It's called Steak-Umms. Exactly what you said...frozen rectangles of thinly sliced beef. Terrible name, but pretty good stuff.
I'm not craving anything at the moment, probably because I'm full. Here while back, I made a burger that Chris took a picture of and posted on his Facebook page. Last night, a friend from high school took a picture of a dinner he had at another friend's house and posted it on his Facebook page. Tonight's dinner, I was tempted to take a picture of and post...well, I'm sure you can guess the rest.

I managed to avoid temptation however, and just ate it. "It" was Chicken Piccata, and it turned out beautifully....both in looks and taste.
