DENVER - It was a letter sent from an inmate in cell 4A-201-18L. He wrote his name as Sean Smith. But authorities think the inmate was really Brandon Darnell Smith, the man accused of ripping off the pinky finger of a shopper at Cherry Creek Shopping Center in April as he stole a bag containing a new iPad.
