List quite POOR. Completely Anglo-centric

I read all the replies in this thread. Granted I am new to this forum..but I am a bit amazed that this list is so English Oriented. Fact is there are hundreds of amazing books that have been written in languages outside of English. I only book on the list not originally in English is the Bible. I can think of 20 books that could make this list without even thinking. And coming from the BBC i find it even weaker. I usually like most BBC content but not this list

3. "Jane Eyre" by Charlotte Bronte.
4. Harry Potter books, by J.K. Rowling.
5. "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee.
6. The Bible.
7. "Wuthering Heights" by Emily Bronte.
8. "Nineteen Eighty Four" by George Orwell.
9. "His Dark Materials" by Philip Pullman.
10. "Great Expectation" by Charles Dickens.

I've read 9 out of these 10 - the only one I'm missing is "To Kill a Mockingbird". Just wondered how many of these other forum members have read?
