I work in development for the local affiliate of an educational/cultural not-for-profit organization.

Like most fundraisers, I didn't think I'd be one when I grew up, but I find it fascinating.

I actually wanted to be an (academic) book editor when I grew up (got my M.A. in history), but stumbled into event fundraising as a temp job while writing my thesis, and transitioned into other fundraising disciplines when that got boring.

I still keep track of the publishing world, since it is tangentially related to my job, so I get access to a lot of free publishing webinars, most of which are about e-Books right now. Sadly, they are way too focused on getting on the iPad platform.
