Device: Kobo Aura and Kobo Mini, had a Nook, NOOKcolor, Nook STR.
I would say the Kindle, but it doesn't support epub, which is the most common format now.

The Kobo is a basic reader, but make sure you like to use your right hand for turning pages.

I love my Nook. It does everything you need, but the battery only lasts me 3-4 days (I read a lot though).
