True. The Kindle uses the same display but if you had sent it back to Amazon in 5 months, replacement would be free. It's the company at the point of sale that makes a choice how much to eat for the sake of customer satisfaction. You can find plenty of people who had a Kindle fail in the early days of ownership but comparatively few who will term their overall experience "low quality".
