I updated my Ru Launcher using Trook, no problems, I've never used ADB for anything.
Random icons should work, I initially just replaced a couple to try my designs out.
B&N
com.bravo.library.LibraryActivity
com.bravo.library.LibraryActivity_focus
Nookdevs
com.nookdevs.library.NookLibrary
com.nookdevs.library.NookLibrary_focus
But it doesn't matter what the names are, without the latest Ru Launcher it won't work.
