I'm trying to decide my position on this, LOL. There's nothing wrong with buying broken products that most of us are too lazy to get fixed ourselves, and then fixing them one way or another for a profit. It's probably a really good business to get into, since we are a super consumerist society. It's broke? Get a new one!

The OP isn't asking for anything for free (he said he would pay for the repair service, did it exist), and even though you want to be mad at him because he's making a profit, would you also be mad if this was a little old grandma who dropped her Nook because her hands aren't as strong as they used to be, and she called B&N, and they said, "Sorry grandma, we don't fix broken nooks, and you didn't get the extended warranty, now you have an expensive paperweight".

Now, I'm not sure how I feel about this if Amazon DOES exchange Kindle's for free if there's a broken screen. I think I might start buying broken kindles! LOL.

I bought a Square Trade warranty for mine. I hope I don't need to use it.

Oh, and to the OP, I don't think you can be mad about the warranty not transferring for broken screens, since the warranty doesn't cover broken screens. Or are you talking about the optional extended protection plan? Have you run into a case where they won't honor said plan?
