Most "extreme" place I ever read an ebook was at the top platform of a 200 ft old military communications tower. This was up in the hills of Fort Greely, Alaska. Me and my partner were doing a military contract to see if the towers (built in the 50's) were in good enough condition to be retrofitted into cell phone towers (because the Army slogan is why spend money building something new when you can repair something old).

I had already climbed to the top, and we set up a winch and pulley system to lift a bucket of tools up and down. Because the tower was so old the climbing safety system they used back then didn't work with the equipment we use now days, so it was pretty much just a 200 ft free climb up a ladder.

Got to the last day of work and the bulb I had to replace at the top was missing a part I needed, so my buddy had to drive back to the inhabited part of the base (about an hour round trip) to see if they happened to have it. We decided it was a needless risk for me to climb back down, so he sent my 505 and a bottle of mountain dew up in the bucket so I had something to do while I waited.
