Actually, I think it really is a big deal. While it is "just" a fuel cell, the good part is that it runs on water instead of water+methanol.

I suppose that doesn't matter if it's not rechargeable, but assuming you can recharge it with water, then you have instant recharge plus double the capacity of ordinary batteries.

Ordinary fuel cells probably all require expensive recharge mechanisms or costly methane cartridges.
