In the last edition of Stieg Larsson's Millenium trilogy a character named Paolo Roberto appears. He is a "famous" Swedish boxer. I have no idea of knowing if SL got Roberto's permission to use him in the book, but he does have an integral role in the plot, but at least he got to play himself in the movie. Maybe that can help you to persuade the people involved?
