The last book I read before I got the Kindle was 1000 pages. It was miserable to read. It should have been sold in several volumes. It took me much longer to finish than it should have because my hands would get achy and I'd have to stop. Even a 300 page paperback seems unnecessarily cumbersome to me these days.
