eReader tools, Managers and Converters

What tools do you use?

Someone here posted Synctoy from Micro Soft. So I downloaded it and WOW! what a great piece of software.

I have XP on my Netbook and I also have a JB as well as an ALP. Both have 4 gig SDHC cards. I keep an SD Image on my PC and sync it to both devices. I run parallel copies so as to compare the JB and ALP to various e-book formats etc. I also keep a lot of personal data and interesting articles I come across on the Internet stored on the unit.

Before SyncToy I had to keep track of what new items had been added or re-located or renamed or deleted etc. The alternative was to wipe and do a complete re-load if the changes were extensive.

Now I just make the changes to the Main library array on the PC and use SyncToy to apply all the changes to both devices. What a time saver.

I also use Calibre but only as a converter. I do not use it to manage my ebooks.
Calibre and MobiPocket reader are used to download News and Magazines.

I also have "Eeerotate" but this is mainly for PC based e-readers on my Netbook. It allows me to rotate the screen 90 degrees in either direction so I can make better us of the Netbook's smaller screen.
