I would say at the price point of the new kindle Dx I would just save up the extra $100 and get the iPad. Then you would have Magna at it's best.

otherwise I would stick to the 6 inch. The DX is too close to the iPad price wise and for your needs the extra $100 gives you Magna's best medium.
