I really have to disagree. The iPad is an excellent device for reading, provided that you don't have a requirement to read in direct sunlight (which I personally don't). It gives you enormous flexibility in the range of available books since, unlike a dedicated reading device, you are not restricted to one format or limited in the range of bookstores you can obtain material from.
